Please continue to get comfortable in your vulnerability as we reflect upon and answer the following questions:

  1. What are your thoughts and feelings after reviewing the materials? What surprised you? What did you learn?
  2. Reflect upon the media you consume. What is the racial mix of the main characters in your favorite TV shows and movies?
  3. After reviewing the materials, critically examine how people of color are being represented in the shows, movies, and other media you consume.
  4. Examine how people of color are being represented in the newspapers and magazines you review. What/who is on the front pages of the newspapers you read? What/who is on the covers of the magazines you review?
  5. What information is being presented in between the TV shows, movies, or news programming you watch? Examine the advertisements. How are people of color being represented in the advertisements?
  6. Consider that the experience of race matters. How are racial experiences being portrayed in the media consumed by the young people in your life?
